1) The narrative starts with you. People believe what you say about yourself, including you. Inspire confidence by conveying your qualifications and contributions, and avoid self-deprecating language or talking about what you THINK you're not good at. You, and others, are always listening.
2) "Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford. Mindset and attitude influence success. Believe you can, confide your goal to others, and you'll see how many will help you reach your destination.
3) Use powerful words and omit those that minimize your message. Instead of saying, "I think," or "I hope," try saying, "I expect." To make your communication more succinct, avoid using "just, kind of, maybe," or "a little." These subtle changes increase credibility and enhance impact.
4) Be genuine. When your true self shines through, your Champions have a clear understanding of who you are and the value you bring so they can easily explain it to others.
5) Expand your network. Create a list of people you want to meet. Introduce yourself, invite them to connect for 30 minutes to learn about their journey, then during the conversation, share details about your own. These people are your future allies, friends and connections to ideas or opportunities. Who knows? You may end up being their Champion, too!
