Addressing Performance Review Feedback

Have you addressed the feedback given at your last performance review?

Time flies and your next evaluation is fast approaching.

Feedback is a gift. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge what you’re doing well and adjust what’s holding you back. If you haven’t started to react to your leader’s input, how do you take charge now?

Acknowledge the positive feedback you received and use that energy to bravely move forward.

Accept and be grateful for the constructive input you were given. It might have been difficult to hear in the moment, but you’ve had time to digest it and can take action.

Document a plan and focus on the future by setting goals under specific timelines that you revisit weekly to ensure you’re holding yourself accountable to achieving them. Remember, no one will be more invested in your growth and success than you are!

Communicate your plan to your leader at your next 1:1 or schedule time with them specifically to discuss it. Showing this initiative before your next formal performance review shows that you heard the feedback, are invested in your growth, and want to have a positive impact on your company’s results.

Let go and look forward. If you want a competitive advantage to be promoted or considered for higher level roles, you need to demonstrate your ability to accept feedback, adjust easily, and inspire yourself to grow.

Forward Bravely!
